Black History Month
February is Black History Month. This year’s national theme is African Americans and the Civil War. This month African American men and women are honored who courageously fought for freedom and equality in the United States during the 1860’s and for the vital role they played in the Civil War. The library display case is filled with books that can be checked out on this significant time period in United States history.
