Century College Library is celebrating Banned Books Week
September 28 – October 3. Libraries are
committed to supporting the freedom to seek and express ideas, even those that
some consider unpopular. Stop in to the
library and enter our drawing for a Banned Books tote, pencil case and a copy
of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
Take a moment to participate in BookFace. And check out the library
display case and see some of the surprising titles that have been challenged or
banned.

Good News About Scanning in the Library
Scanning print items will soon be much easier. One
of our librarians, Jane Young, has won a digital scanner, the KIC Click Mini.
It will scan both pages of an open book or journal placed face up in the
cradle. When it arrives, it will be available in our copy room for student
use.

Student Success Day
Will you be on campus for Student Success Day? Stop into the
Library at 12:30 for the breakout session Your Library, Your Lifeline. We all
know the library is an excellent place to do research, but sometimes you need
to do practical things like write a resume, manage your finances, or find a
scholarship. Take a tour and find out how using the library can help you
manage your life. The session will be held in E1852, the Library’s Computer
Classroom.
We will also be handing out candy, so please stop in!

Study Rooms
Got a group project and don’t know where to go? Come to the
library and use one of our 4 study rooms. Rooms can be booked in advance online
https://mplus.mnpals.net/booking/patron_CEN_6670217.html
or checked out in person, based on
availability. They can be reserved in two hour blocks. Be sure to have your student ID!
Course Reserves
Your instructor told you they put a book on reserve? Then
you’ll find it in the library. The majority of these books do not leave the
library and must be checked out. But that’s ok because we have a….

can be scanned and sent to your email, saved to a flash drive or copied for 10
