Discover Graphic Novels!
The November display case is featuring the increasingly popular graphic novel. Graphic novels are written and illustrated in the style of a comic book that combine art and text bound as a book to tell a story. The graphic novel collection in the library includes popular titles such as Watchmen, V for Vendetta, and Saga as well as standards such as Treasure Island and Call of the Wild. Check out the great graphic novels in the library!

Halloween at the Library
A crowd of scary, funny, and beautifully costumed Busy Bees visited the library to trick or treat for Halloween. They sang a song about witches.
Our staff clearly needs more candy. This one is way too thin.

Scary Book Recommendations
Need something scary to read for Halloween? Check out a book from our display case or choose one of these recommendations from Century students:
(In our considered opinion, Hop on Pop can certainly be scary, especially the section about Mr. Brown being upside down.) Add your own title on our portable whiteboard before Halloween!

Farewell to Reference USA, Welcome LearningExpress
It's a time for change at the Library. Our subscription to the online business resource Reference USA
ended today and we have decided not to renew, but through the Electronic Library for Minnesota provided by Minitex, we have added a new online resource, LearningExpress.
LearningExpress provides guides and tutorials to prepare for professional exams and
important placement tests, improve fundamental academic skills, become a
U.S. citizen, or ensure a top score on school entrance exams. Create a free LearningExpress account to track your progress through tutorials for the NCLEX, TEAS, ASVAB, GRE, Accuplacer, and a wide variety of additional occupational exams.
One of the features of Reference USA was a connection to job ads. LearningExpress, also has this feature in the Job and Career Accelerator section. Once in that section, choose the Resources dropdown, and select Job and Career Accelerator. In the left column, click on “Find a Job and More”. At this point, you would need log in to your free LearningExpress account. If you are looking for a job, the Job and Career Accelerator section has tons of helpful features for writing resumes and cover letters and planning your career.
Direct links to the various test preparation tutorials have been added to appropriate library subject guides under the Multimedia tab. If you have questions, staff at the Reference Desk would be glad to help you.
