National Poetry Month Featuring Billy Collins

April is National Poetry Month. The library display case is featuring the works of Billy Collins, “the most popular poet in America” who will be appearing at Century this month. A variety of poetry books are also showcased including titles by Jim Coppoc, an award-winning writer, teacher, and performer who will read from his work during the Visiting Poets event on campus. National Poetry month was created to celebrate poetry and its vital place in American culture. The National Theme for 2011 is “Bright Objects Hypnotize the Mind”. Increase your awareness and appreciation of poetry this month in the library!
